Pastor Tim is a college graduate in the field of chemistry. He worked in various positions that involved chemistry from 1961 to 2004. Most of his positions involved some kind of research, using laboratory materials and the internet. He retired from chemical research in late 2004. After he retired, he moved his little family to Florida, in the south east portion of the USA, where he lives with his wife, Donna, and his son, TJ. Tim's family provides a lot of support for his ministry, in many ways.
The bulk of Tim's knowledge comes from research, not education. Unlike most " experts " of our day, most of his knowledge has not been obtained by sitting in a classroom, and nodding his head to things being taught by someone, who had been taught by someone else. His years in research has taught him that truth is better obtained by considering many sources, then sorting out truth from fiction. And he has found that the number of degree abbreviations, after one's name, has more to say about how much one is willing to be brainwashed, rather than the value of his knowledge.
Soon after Tim and Donna were married in 1985, they became determined to learn more about God. They began searching for a trustworthy Bible, that would be a reliable source of information. They attended a number of churches, and began intensive research. They found no shortage of people, who wanted to tell them, what they should believe, and which Bible they should be using, but no church or religious group seemed to have all the answers to their questions.
It was around 1985 that they stumbled across a copy of a New King James Bible, and bought it. This was an English translation based upon the same family of Greek and Hebrew manuscripts that had given us the Old King James Version. There are many who falsely claim that God wrote their Bible, that it is infallible, etc. Even a novice observer can quickly see through this kind of excess zeal. It is shameful, that this is actually taught, as fact, in some " Bible " Schools.
It wasn't too long into their search, that they learned that, with one minor exception, the Old Testament was written in Hebrew, and the New Testament was written in Greek. They also learned that the book of Matthew was probably written Aramaic and translated into Greek shortly after its original writing.
It became obvious near the beginning of their research, that there are many things that are important, in the selection of a Bible. Since all of the original copies of the Bible books have been lost, all of our English language Bibles are really translations of copies. Since there are thousands of copies of Bible manuscripts, in existence today, coming from many different sources, we can be confident that the King James Bible, and the New King James Bible, that we have today, are at least 99% accurate.
The sincere and serious student, willing to do a little research, can find and purchase a trustworthy Bible to use in his/her study. Unfortunately, there are a few of the newer Bible translations, that say things in their introductions, which are simply not true, just to try and sell more of their Bibles. This makes Bible selection more difficult for the novice.
For the Bible publisher, there are two questions which must be resolved. The first question is: Which manuscripts should we use? ( A few of the older manuscripts have significant variations from the majority of manuscripts, and frequently omit important words, or verses. )
As you can see, we take the great commission very seriously. Jesus told His disciples, " All authority has been given to Me, in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. ( Matthew 28:18-20 ) Unlike many churches and ministries, this is what we preach and teach, all over the world, through the internet. We preach what Jesus told His followers to preach, " The Kingdom of God ( heaven ) is at hand. Repent! ( Matthew 10:7) The Kingdom of God is still at hand. If you want to know what happens to those who ignore this message, read about the rich man in Luke 16:19-31.
